Upcoming Classes & Workshops
We're excited to (pre)announce our upcoming class and workshop schedule for the summer and fall. Our new studio is about 2,000 square fee with a giant screen and is perfect for classes and workshops. We're going to be teaching some of the same classes we've covered in the past such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, our "Ultimate Workflow" workshop and some of our photography classes as well. We're in our new studio now
This year I'm really excited, super excited actually to offer a couple our most requested classes. The first is professional retouching. This won't be a class taught be someone who's been watching youtube videos for a year or two. I've been retouching professionally for almost 30 years for ad agencies, art directors, magazines, commercial clients, photographers and myself. There will be techniques that are completely unique to my workflow, actions, presets and a completely new way to work with camera raw files that isn't taught anywhere else. I concentrate on removing distractions and flaws while enhancing the best features and delivering an image that looks as natural as possible. I'll show you how to do this in the most efficient way. Time is money.....
Professional Portrait Photography Start to Finish
I've probably had more requests for this workshop more than any other. This workshop will cover everything from prepping for a shoot, to lighting, both on location and in the studio, posing, connecting with the model, the shoot itself and then retouching and finishing the final image. It's basically and everything in one workshop. This is a hands on workshop with models where you can shoot images that can be used in your portfolio. I'll keep this workshop pretty small so if you have an interest in this workshop send an email or a Private Message on Facebook.
This class is based on my own workflow which has been years in development. It's a completely different way to think about working with Camera Raw files to get the absolute most our of every file. This workflow is awesome for working with files with a large dynamic range and yields results just not possible with any other workflow that I'm aware of. Images processed with the ultimate workflow have a depth and clarity that far exceeds conventional workflows. (This class is for those who shoot RAW, jogs simply don't have enough information to take advantage of this unique process)
This workshop is designed for both beginners and photographers with experience levels of all sorts. Val and I will guide you through the Canyon to our favorite places to shoot and teach you how we edit those photos using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I'm keeping the class size small so that we can have a lot of one-on-one time in both the shooting part as well as the editing portion of the workshop.
Sports & Action Photography
We shoot a LOT of action throughout the year as the Official Sports Photographers for The University of North Alabama and several other schools and organizations. We think we do this pretty well and have a lot of experience to share. We're putting together a killer class for this subject to keep watching for the dates and times if you're interested in this.
We shot almost 1.7 million frames this part year and the majority of those were processed in Lightroom, if you want to know how to work effectively and efficiently in Adobe Lightroom, this class is for you. We'll show you the tips and tricks of the trade to make lightroom work well for you.
This is the professional powerhouse of image editing. There really isn't much that you can't do in adobe photoshop. We'll cover both the basics as well as some more advanced tips for clear, sharp colorful images. It's a big program but we've been using it professionally since the very first version came our years ago and we've learned a thing or two... We'll pass on what we know to help you get the most our of this wonderful program.
One of the most frustrating things I know of is to buy a nice camera and still get better images from your phone.... We'll help you get past that frustration and get the most out of your camera. We'll speak english, not technical, and do our best to explain what all of those buttons and knobs are. It a fun class with a lot of lightbulb moments.
